Associate Luiz von Paumgartten

Luiz von Paumgartten specializes in patent prosecution and counseling.

Mr. von Paumgartten began his legal career as a patent agent at Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P. in 2001, where he subsequently practiced as an attorney. He was a patent litigator at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, PC between 2007 and 2010.

Mr. von Paumgartten holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University, where he was an editor of the Computer Law Review & Technology Journal.

Mr. von Paumgartten is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Northern Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and Texas state courts.
