Associate Alex Courtade
Alex Courtade's practice includes patenting new inventions, infringement analysis, and patent counseling. He works with all kinds of technologies, with a focus on computer software, networking, communications, electronics, E-Commerce, and related fields.
Before practicing law, Mr. Courtade worked as a software developer, specializing in web application development and server-based systems. He graduated from Rice University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. During his studies, he interned with both LM Ericsson and IBM (Tivoli Systems). He also worked in a supervisory capacity for Rice University's Information Technology department.
In 2008, Mr. Courtade earned a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. While in law school, he served as Associate Editor to the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal (TIPLJ). He participated in mock trial and took advanced coursework in advocacy; he also received a three-year Gardere Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Law.
Mr. Courtade is licensed to practice in Texas and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
