Patent Agent Joel Stevens
Joel Stevens serves as a Patent Agent specializing in software-based patent preparation, prosecution, and analysis. Mr. Stevens also has significant patent experience in computer architecture and computer-based measurement and automation. In 2005, Mr. Stevens received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude, from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He has authored or co-authored publications in the fields of biochemistry (DNA computation), nanotechnology (functionalization of fluoronanotubes, patent pending), and organic chemistry (synthesis of heliquinomycin and lactonamycin).
In the area of computer science, Mr. Stevens has worked for numerous web-based software companies, for example, as Chief Knowledge Officer for www.moveneutral.com and www.collegevine.com. He also has extensive experience in the area of Information Technology, including work for Sigma-Genosys and BioTX Automations in The Woodlands, TX, among others. Mr. Stevens has also worked on the computationally complex problems involved in protein folding with Cecilia Clementi at Rice University. In his professional career, Mr. Stevens has focused his practice on computer and software-related inventions, including software patent work for National Instruments, Sun Microsystems, and Symantec, among others.
