Patent Agent Ann Harwood
Ann Harwood serves as a Patent Agent, specializing in the fields of computer systems, software, integrated circuit design, and Electronic Design Automation (EDA).
Ms. Harwood attended Texas A&M University, where she was inducted into Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu Honor Societies. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982 and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Harwood worked for Motorola’s Semiconductor Products Sector, later Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., where she was a Fellow of the Technical Staff. While at Motorola/Freescale, Ms. Harwood was a co-inventor on three patents, was co-author of four articles published in technical trade journals, received two Motorola Cycle Time Awards, and was a speaker at Embedded Processor Forum (1999).
Her experience includes integrated circuit design and verification, hardware and software process development, systems-on-chip (SOC) development, and technology transfer. In addition to engineering positions, Ms. Harwood held management positions in design, design methodology, and IP licensing and led company-wide initiatives on IP reuse, design productivity, and design methodology and EDA tool standardization. She also served as a trained assessor for internal SEI, QS9000, and Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award assessments.
