Director/Shareholder Jeffrey C. Hood
Jeffrey C. Hood specializes in patent procurement and counseling. Mr. Hood's patent prosecution is focused in the electrical and software arts, particularly in the areas of computer system architecture and design, computer-based measurement and automation, graphical programming, 3-D graphics, computer peripherals, networking, and object-oriented software.
Mr. Hood received his Bachelor of Science degree and his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice University in 1988 and 1989, respectively. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center in December 1992. Mr. Hood's Master's program focused in the areas of digital signal processing and computer architecture. Mr. Hood has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the computer hardware and software arts. His practice also includes counseling clients regarding various aspects of intellectual property protection, including patent enforcement counseling as well as the preparation of patentability and validity opinions.
In his professional career, Mr. Hood has procured patents for numerous corporations, including Compaq Computer Corporation, Dell Computer Corporation, National Instruments Corporation, Sun Microsystems, and Advanced Micro Devices. Mr. Hood is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, and Texas State Courts.
